‘Mari Najare Gujarat’ is not just limited to showcase Gujarat’s beauty and wildlife but a religious place and its cultural values too!

My enchanting journey to Somanth is a kind of experience that will always remain on the top. Being brought up in a brahmin household, you have been told that getting a chance to visit Somnath temple is considered to a fruit of your good deeds in life. Hence, I feel so blessed to share some glimpses of my journey with you and take an opportunity to have you abord with me on a virtual tour of the Somnath temple.

The moment I entered the temple premise, the kind of energy that passed through my goose was difficult to describe in words. Somnath temple is one of the oldest temples of the world yet it possesses rich architectural values, which you can figure out while having a glance it the sculpture work done on its wall. I got to gain so much information from the priest himself who took me through the historic significance of this place.

Somnath Temple - India’s first among the 12 Jyotirlinga

After spending some time with the diving energy and uttermost peace within, it was the time to witness the Aarti ritual that happens every day. Along with Aarti, I was fortunate enough to have Prasad too; as we believe that having prasad is as good as witnessing the presence of divine God!

While exploring Somnath, I got to know some really interesting facts. I was told that an incident written in Skanda Purana that as and when the universe will be rebuilt, the name of this temple will change.

It is believed that when Lord Brahma will destroy this world and create a new one, this temple will be called "Prannath Temple".

One more interesting trivia I heard is that, Experts say that the 'arrow pillar' is a directional column, with an arrow made on its upper end, whose 'mouth' is towards the sea. On this arrow column is written: 'Asmudrant South Pole, till then uninterrupted Jyotirmarga'. This means that there is not a single barrier or obstacle in the straight line from this point of the sea to the south pole. This means that there is no piece of mountain or plot in this straight line. Even today people come here and check the same in their google map, even I tried doing it!

The vibrations of this place are so magical that you forget the changing colors of the sky, I literally unable to figure out how did my entire day passed so quickly and I was on to another attraction of this temple. This attraction is a combination of Sound and Laser presentation, it enhances the beauty of this temple, it enlightens the corners of this place and make it even beautiful with its lights in the night time complimented by an informative storytelling voice.

Do attend Light & Sound show at 8 PM

Packing a bag full of memory, I went to explore more around this place, meanwhile I got to see a lot of scenic places, birds, beaches that added a different charm to my journey, and at last I reached a special destination called ‘Bhalka Tirth’ – a place where lord Krishna took his last breath on this earth.

My journey was less tiring and more contentful because of the itinerary that I made. I hope you will relate to most of my observations when you will explore the same places that I been to. Check out the collage of such golden moments in this video and witness the beauty of this place!
